Many of you are probably dog lovers, but there’s no denying that cats have been taking the internet by storm for years! Overall, they are ridiculously adorable despite their constant scratching, erratic behavior, and ability to access almost any area of the house. Our feline friends’ ability to come in such a wide variety of hues and patterns is one of their coolest qualities. Their markings are absolutely magnificent to view. The list that follows provides some information about cats with some of the most unusual, gorgeous, and fascinating markings. Some of them are so breathtaking that they almost seem unreal!
Some cats have markings that give the impression that they are experiencing a single emotion all the time. Like these two adorable girls. Above their eyes, both of them have markings that give the impression that they might be feeling one of three things. They are either shocked by what has occurred, saddened by something completely unrelated, or feeling bad about something they did. In the end, though, they probably just want to play with their owner for a while.
Hippie
Nowadays, a curly mustache typically denotes one of three things. You are either playing a scheming bad guy from a 1930s movie, an extra in a production of Hamilton, or a hipster.
However, it can be challenging to identify which of the three cats a kitten is if they are born with this type of marking. Accept the fact that it makes the cat appear even cuter than it would have without it.
Harvey Dent
Have you seen Batman films? You might have also read the comics. Anyhow, you’re probably already aware of Batman, a superhero who fights crime in Gotham City. Harvey Dent, who later takes on the monstrous Two-Face identity, is one of the antagonists in that tale.
Even though the fact that one half of this cat’s face is drastically different from the other makes it resemble that villain, this feline is a million times cuter.
A Cat On Cat
It’s one thing to have a cat silhouette drawn on another cat’s body, but it’s quite another to be born with a finely detailed portrait of a cat on your body.
One might even assert that it is the stuff of miracles. Let’s face it, guys, this kitten’s torso is clearly adorned with the ears, eyes, mouth, nose, and neck of another cat. The uncanny nature of it is truly amazing.
Rorschach
Okay, so the markings on this cat aren’t exactly the same as those on a Rorschach test. This is due to the fact that symmetrical inkblots are used in Rorschach tests. The markings on this cat are definitely not like that.
However, there is something captivating about this cat’s appearance and the way the white blends with the black. Perhaps a Jackson Pollock painting, which uses haphazard splotches of paint to create works of art best described as organized chaos, would be a more appropriate comparison.
Shocked Kitty
Another classic illustration of a cat with a distinctive marking that gives the impression that it is always experiencing a single emotion. This time, the cat in question exhibits a constant look of shock. Don’t worry, though.
They don’t actually always have their mouth open wide. The only difference is that they simply have a black mark on their lower lip, giving the impression that they are shocked all the time. It’s actually pretty laid-back.
Fur With A Heart
There are some cats that when they curl up into a little ball, their markings take on new shapes that weren’t there before. Consider this cat, for instance. They have a random pattern of shapes marked on their fur when they are upright.
But when they’re all curled up and lying down, these seemingly random shapes form a heart! In actuality, this phenomenon affects two different cats! How likely are those?
Cat Lookin’ Like A Bat
Well, that is a pretty simple question to answer. Yes, it is unquestionably a cat. On their chest fur, though, they do seem to have some sort of Rorschach-like marking. Furthermore, there is no denying that it resembles a bat in our minds.
It certainly resembles a winged animal (or bird) that is spreading its wings. This marking is excellent for intimidating competitors.
A Bad Cat
The Punisher is a superhero aimed at a much more mature audience due to its violent content, whereas Marvel characters like Iron Man and Captain America are much more kid-friendly. Nevertheless, there is no question that the Punisher’s logo is iconic.
You can therefore imagine how shocked we were to discover a cat with a marking that was nearly identical to the traditional skull logo. Stan Lee would be giggling if he saw this if he were still alive today!
A Tiger Wannabe
It goes without saying that cats and tigers are distant cousins. Tigers are ultimately just very large cats that are much more challenging to domesticate than small house cats. The cat in the picture below appears to be going through an identity crisis.
The color scheme of this cat gives it the appearance of trying to be a tiger, even though there are many felines with stripes and patterns that resemble their much larger relatives.
Panda Baby
Truth be told, whenever you dress in all white with black around your eyes, you immediately bring to mind a certain animal: the panda. You probably thought your cat was cute enough on its own, but that’s not the case.
But a cat with panda markings takes cuteness to a whole new level. It could be argued that the cat’s markings suggest it is about to commit a bank robbery. To be honest, we much rather use the panda analogy. This alternative is so much cuter!
Ace
Sometimes a cat’s markings will look too perfect to be true, and other times they’ll look completely random. The latter is exemplified here. What in the world would cause a cat to have a marking on its belly that looks like a spade from a deck of cards?
The fact that playing cards are typically white and the ace of spades is black makes these markings all the more awesome. What we have here is the inverse of that!
Catman
You know it’s Batman when they’re wearing a black mask with pointy ears that only covers the upper half of their face. The Caped Crusader is bitter enemies with the Clown Prince of Crime. Here is Catman, ladies, and gentlemen.
There is, however, one glaring flaw in this reasoning. Where does Catwoman fit in? Catman and Catwoman but no Batman? That just doesn’t make any sense. Is “Bat Cat” a good name, then? Everything has become very complicated very quickly.
Shadow
What are the chances of a cat being born with a marking on its back that resembles a shadow or the outline of another cat? You’ve heard the idiom “existing in somebody else’s shadow,” right? Now, that’s something these cats do every single day.
Or, more precisely, the marking has adapted to life in the cat’s shadow. A cat within a cat only serves to further confound matters.
Look At Your Nose
There are, of course, felines in the wild whose markings resemble the outline of another species. You don’t see cats with the tiny outline of another cat on their nose very often.
This photo of a newborn kitten with a cat’s nose shadow was taken by an unknown photographer. Whoever it was, though, you have our respect. That ability seems to have been hardwired into this kitten from birth!
A Cinnamon Swirl
Cats in their curled-up, miniature forms are always a sight to behold. A cat’s coat and pattern of spots can make it resemble the Yin and Yang symbol.
Contrarily, this photocat is anything but normal. This cat’s dark and light brown stripes make it look like a cinnamon swirl when it curls up on its back. It’s time to eat now.
Harry Potter
For some reason, whenever anyone or anything has a zig-zag pattern on their forehead, the first thing that comes to mind is everyone’s favorite young wizard, Harry Potter.
Just like that famous lightning bolt symbol, this cat was born with a distinctive mark on its forehead. There better not be any retribution for Voldermort if he’s responsible for this “scar,” too.
Multi-Colored Eyes
An unusual addition to this gallery, the following image does not highlight the fur pattern. This cat, however, is affected by partial heterochromia, a condition that is common in many other species.
Some cats have one eye that is a different color than the other. How often, though, do you actually see a cat whose eyes are actually two different colors, split down the middle?
Mark On Top
The markings of a cat are not always required to be elaborate or flashy in order to convey the intended message. This cat is a perfect illustration. Generally speaking, it seems to be in the ordinary range.
Carrying A Monkey
There are, without a doubt, felines in the wild whose body silhouettes resemble those of other felines. However, the image below is not one of those. Due to this peculiar marking, his cat looks as though she is carrying a monkey on her back.
The cat is clearly driven crazy by the thought that something real could be clinging to her back at any moment thanks to this marking. She has to constantly run after herself.
Where Are You Going?
The pattern of a cat’s fur isn’t just made up of accidental lettering and squiggly lines. Pets and other small animals may try to guide us in the right direction by leaving clues.
This feline has an arrow embedded in its fur, and for some reason, it’s pointing in an unusual direction. That there’s a box sitting on top of them is a whole other drama. However, who can say for sure? Perhaps there’s some link between the two.
Heart Shape
Numerous cats have been reported to have heart-shaped patterns in their fur, as you have no doubt seen in this article. This is the first cat I’ve seen with such a cute shape right where it counts—on its chin, just below its mouth.
It’s easy to picture this cat using this area as a favorite scratching post. Like a bull’s-eye, it begs the owner to stroke it right now.
We’re Serious Right Here
In fact, two of the cats already mentioned on this list have fur patterns that give them the appearance of a mustache, making them resemble vintage Bond villains. On the other hand, this is one of the few cats we’ve seen with matching eyebrows and’stache.
Furthermore, it gives the impression that the cat is extremely enraged about something. Although it may have seemed otherwise, this cat was actually quite content right now.
Black Cats
Black cats are generally favored over their colored counterparts. Cats in general are masters of stealth, able to quietly approach their prey without making a sound; however, black cats in particular are experts at remaining unseen, especially in the evening hours.
While most cats excel in this area, this particular one has a few problems. The fact that their nose is pink while the rest of their body is black gives this explanation away.
Rorschach Test, Again
This design on the cat’s fur doesn’t resemble anything in particular, but it does make us think of an inkblot test. The Rorschach inkblot test, if you will.
After all, the fur features symmetrical shapes that seem like they could be used to deduce a person’s mental state. Or, the two central figures could be a pair of ghosts. It’s up to you if that’s what you’re into.
A Perfect Triangle
Many of the symbols on this list, such as hearts, arrows, and letters, have been permanently etched into the fur of cats. We’ve seen cats before, but never one with such a perfectly shaped triangle. This kitty appears to be a creative problem solver.
A patient and strategic predator will only pounce when they are absolutely certain they will succeed in catching and eating their prey.
Got Suit & Tie?
It’s safe to say that the black shape under this cat’s head is meant to resemble a necktie. We can’t get over how cute he looks with black beans on his paws; he must be going to a fancy party.
What interests us is why he appears to have recently been apprehended by law enforcement. “I swear to you, sir, that it wasn’t me. My sibling, Sir. Purs-a-lot!†Keep your paws where we can see them, kitty.
Number One
In how long has it been since you last saw a shape in a cat’s fur that looked like a number? The fact that the number one appears to be printed on this cat’s nose is absolutely hilarious to us. Well, you know what?
We’re also confident that the owner has noticed this, since the cat is constantly referred to as “the best there is.” The one shape is made even more noticeable by the surrounding black fur.
A Split Of Colors
The truth is that there are cats with stranger fur patterns than this one. In that respect, there are plenty of other people here who also succeed. We couldn’t overlook this cat, though, because the pattern of black on its head is intriguing, to put it mildly.
It almost seems as though the cat has black hair on its head and has chosen to part it down the middle.
A Combo Of Squirrel & Cat
Different cats have different length and density of tail fur. We’ve seen plenty of cats, but none with a tail as dramatic as this one. This one is enormous, and its coloration makes it look like the bushy end of a squirrel’s tail.
The cat’s tail and back are both decorated with an orange pattern that gives the impression that a squirrel is desperately clinging to the animal.
There’s A Face On Its Face
It seems unbelievable that this kitten was born with a facial marking on its forehead. Have you seen the movie “Inception?” Do you remember that blockbuster by Christopher Nolan where a group of spies must enter a dream within a dream in order to accomplish their mission?
In that there is a cat’s face on top of another cat’s face, I suppose you could call this an Inception cat. Do you get the allusion? Nevermind.
It’s Just Me
In that there is a cat’s face on top of another cat’s face, I suppose you could call this an Inception cat. Do you get the allusion? Nevermind.
This cat looks like it’s sporting a set of cat ears on a headband thanks to the way the black spots on its head and ears stand out against its white face. Almost as if the cat said to itself, “I’m going to be a cat for Halloween this year!”
A Heart Nose
Heart-shaped markings on the fur of some cats are a reality. Different ones are located on various parts of their bodies and heads. We’ve never seen a kitten before, but its nose is the perfect shape for a heart.
It’s almost as if they were imbued from infancy with a sweet aroma of romance. The photo is already adorable, but the little kitten’s close-up of their heart makes it even better.
Labeled As Cat
We accept that some cats have patterns that are similar to those of other cats. We’ve never seen a cat with markings that looked like words, though. What are the odds, besides, that a kitten would be born with the word “cat” tattooed somewhere on its body?
Simply put, it’s too good to be true. They could have been more helpful if given a name at birth. If they ever got lost, at least someone would recognize their name.
A Cat With Beard
Certain cat markings can give the impression of human characteristics that aren’t typically associated with cats. The bottom half of this cat’s face is covered in a huge marking.
Interestingly, the cat appears to be sporting a full beard. However, why would a real beard on a cat make any kind of sense? You can see every bone because of how thick their hair is.
